The Association of Seafood Producers (ASP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorelei Roberts as its new Executive Director, effective January 30, 2026.

Ms. Roberts brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in public sector governance, regulatory oversight, and policy development, with deep, direct expertise in fisheries and aquaculture in Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 2020, she has served at the Assistant Deputy Minister level with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, including as Assistant Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, where she was responsible for regulatory management, compliance and enforcement, market development, and modernization initiatives across the harvesting, processing, and aquaculture sectors.

Throughout her career, Ms. Roberts has worked closely with industry, Indigenous governments, and federal and provincial partners to advance sustainable growth, strengthen regulatory frameworks, and support innovation and competitiveness within the seafood sector.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am very pleased to welcome Lorelei to the Association of Seafood Producers,” said Kim Quinlan, Chair of the Board. “Lorelei brings an exceptional understanding of our province’s fishery, strong leadership experience, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with industry and government. Her depth of knowledge and strategic approach will be a tremendous asset as ASP continues to build a strong, sustainable, and globally competitive seafood sector.”

Ms. Roberts expressed her enthusiasm for the role and the opportunity to work on behalf of an industry that is central to the province’s economy and culture.

The Association of Seafood Producers represents seafood processing companies across Newfoundland and Labrador and works to promote the interests of the province’s seafood sector through advocacy, collaboration, and strategic leadership.
