Members of ASP export their products to more than 40 countries around the world. In 2019, the province as a whole, exported seafood products valued at over $931 million dollars, and a volume of over 103,000 tonnes.
The United States is the largest export market for Newfoundland and Labrador seafood products, representing 51% of the total export value, with China as the next largest export market at 21%. Other key markets include Denmark, Japan and the United Kingdom.
Snow crab had an export value of over $415 million dollars in 2019, with groundfish at the second highest value of $121 million, followed by shrimp at $198 million, and pelagics at $28 million.
